Situated 17 Km (approx. 11 miles) from Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, Le Logis de la Mesanchere was one known as "La Muzanchiere"
Owned by the Lords of MAUCLERCS since the 13th Century, it has undergone many changes and modifications over the years, but there remains certain stonework attesting to its authenticity.

The document "Le Rouleau d'Apremont" by Jean-Baptiste FLORENTIN cites La Muzanchiere (the old name of La Mesanchere), dated 1542. It is held at the National Library and a copy can be seen at Apremont Chateau. |
